Hui Sing Hawker centre committee helping the needy
As part of their social obligation, Hui Sing Hawker centre committee has collected a total of RM34,000 worth of cash and food stuff to donate to the needy.
Its Organising Chairman, Chang Hot Chai said this is the fourth year the committee has set out to do this.
He said they had identified 31 needy persons and some welfare associations of which they gave food stuff like rice, oats, noodles, biscuits and Milo. There were also wheel chairs donated to welfare homes.
Chang said since Chinese new year is round the corner, it is a timely project. He said besides the Hui Sing Hawkers committee who also donate, they received a number of donations from good samaritans.
At the function, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party Secretary General, Dato’ Sebastian Ting was present to give away the goodies.
