New Mayor of Miri – Yii Siew Sang

I would like to thank SUPP for nominating me as the new mayor of Miri.

And I would like to thank our Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem and Sarawak government for accepting this nomination.

I accept this nomination with great humility and honor.

It is my great responsibility to do my best for the well-being and future of Miri. And I’ll work with all quarters of the Miri City to improve the infrastructure, amenities and facilities to become a resort city of choice.

Apart from improving the council services delivery, it will be my focus to uplift Miri economy via tourism development.

And in the coming months I would like to get feedbacks from all the stakeholders in Miri – from the public and private sectors as well as community organisations and non governmental bodies – on what they feel are the urgent issues that need to be addressed in Miri city.

I welcome constructive ideas and also constructive criticisms that can help the city council to improve its services for the people.

I’m sure with the cooperation and coordination with Sarawak government and the people of Miri, we can make Miri better for the future.
