Lo checking out damages following freak storm

Padawan Municipal council, Lo Khere Chiang who is the State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, urged residents in Padawan to follow the relevant rules and get proper approval before doing any extension to their houses.

Lo who was at Jalan Tai Shin Jar, Batu Kitang last night to look at the damages caused by the freak weather on Wednesday said everyone must be careful when doing extension as the weather is getting unpredictable these days.

He said many houses in his area had their roofs blown off, cables broken and there was blackout in some areas.

Pointing out that without proper designs or approval, the illegal extension would not only caused damages to other people’s properties but also to lives.

He thanked all the agencies involved- Bomba, Sesco, TM, Police and JPAM, and especially the neighbourhood Watch for assisting the victims of the houses caused by the thunder storm and taking the initiative on road safety due to the blown off roofs blocking the roads.
