Press statement of Opar Branch
The supporters and party members of three BN component parties in Opar namely Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) disagree with BN direct candidate YB Tuan Ranum Mina who intend to bring his seat to join Parti Persaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).
The signature campaign had collected more than 1200 supporter’s signature which was launched from June 20 to 24 in Opar by the three BN component party leaders.
The Opar’s branch of SUPP chairman Ampel, SPDP chairman Encik Rayan Narong and PRS chairman KR. Arkin Anak Raper had also been involved in the signature campaign activity. The document was handed over to SUPP President, Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian this morning.
The Declaration made by the grassroots absolutely disagree that Ranum to merge the Opar seat, which originally belong to SUPP with PBB.
“Ranum has the rights and freedom to join PBB but he is not allowed to take away the Opar seat”.
