SPCB helping out in late registration
The SUPP Public Complaints Bureau was recently approached by a father (surnamed Chua) currently residing at Stampin Baru Resettlement Scheme who requested for assistance as he was facing problems applying for an identity card for his intellectually challenged son.
The father informed that he did not apply for an identity card for his intellectually challenged son when his son turned twelve as his son was sick and he had difficulties bringing him to the National Registration Department. His son is already 21 years old and needs an identity card to enable him to continue to receive welfare assistance from the Government.
The father’s problem arose due to his misunderstanding of the procedure and requirements for late registration/application of an identity card.
The SUPP Public Complaints Bureau have now successfully assisted the father to apply and obtain an identity card (late registration) for his son from the National Registration Department.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau would also like to notify the public that the National Registration Department has a mobile team who is ever ready to assist the public. The general public can always request the services of the mobile team of the National Registration Department but such person must furnish very good reasons as to why they cannot personally go to the National Registration Department.
