SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr Sim went down to the evacuation centre at Kpg Bombok in Batu Kitang to help out with the flood victims. Dr. Sim said at a time like this, rice and sardine are very much needed as the evacuees were eating noodles all the time. He said it was fortunate that schools started only next Monday and there is a need for gotong royong in the clean up process.

Heavy rain all over Kuching affected residential houses in several parts of the city, particularly those in  low lying areas, causing floods. Various SUPP branches and volunteers gave up their Chinese Year time with family and friends to work around the clock to help those affected by the flood.
