Helping out residents of Taman Mei Lee
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief and SUPP Candidate for N12 Kota Sentosa, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by residents living at Taman Mei Lee, Lorong 6, Jalan Stakan near 7th Mile Commercial Area on the blocking of the road by the contractor appointed by Padawan Municipal Council for construction works for the widening of a concrete drain at the entrance of Lorong 6.
Following the request for assistance received, Wilfred Yap immediately went to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to resolve and minimize the traffic problem.
During the site visit, it was discovered that the signage put up by the contractor was inadequate as the contractor did not provide any notice on the alternative routes available to residents staying there. It was also discovered that the earth dug up for the widening of the drains were not immediately removed but left on the road which blocked half the road..
The matter have since been highlighted and brought up to the attention of the Engineering Section of Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) who have requested the contractor to put up a proper signage indicating available alternative access routes and also to remove the earth as soon as possible instead of leaving it by the road. The contractor have also been requested by MPP to take steps to ease traffic congestion by not carrying out works which might disrupt traffic flow during peak hours to ease traffic flow.
