New Year message from Dato Sebastian and Adam Yii
” We Chinese in Sarawak, and all other races and ethnic groups for that matter, can welcome the Year of the Monkey with confidence and newfound strength especially with the fact that the Sarawak government under Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem has become revitalised and energised.
The Chinese in Sarawak are now getting the recognition and attention that is due, especially the recent move by Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Adenan Satem, to give official recognition to the Unified Exam Certificate and annual allocations to Chinese schools,” he said. Ting said the Chinese are also being given greater roles in administration and in the various business and economic roles in this state and Adenan had also initiated 50 measures for Sarawakians, including in reduction of electricity tariffs, abolishment of tolls and non-increase in assessment rates – all of which have benefited the Chinese and every other races in Sarawak.
Adenan, he added, has also proven that he is bold enough to take on Putrajaya in his effort to defend the rights of Sarawak and Sarawakians.
SUPP, he said, have also been aggressively fighting to ensure that our rights in Sarawak are not eroded any further and that whatever rights that had been taken away from us will be returned. He said the party will refocused their energy and manpower resources towards the grass root rakyat.
” We have established more branches and service centres state-wide to serve the people and to look into their needs. A denan has said that he wants the Chinese to be part and parcel of mainstream development and to be a vital part of the state government administration so we are confident that the Chinese in Sarawak will give their full backing to Adenan and to the SUPP which is a part of the state administrative organ,
If we are united behind Adenan we will be able to look ahead to a better future in this state and we as a state will be able to look forward to becoming a truly equal partner in Malaysia if we show our solidarity as one united Sarawak under the State Barisan Nasional,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pujut chairman, Adam Yii in his CNY message wishes all Chinese and people of Sarawak a joyous gong xi fa cai.
He said that though the coming months may see economic challenges in the global scene, Sarawakians can still look forward with hope because we have a stronger state government under Adenan.
SUPP too has undergone a lot of transformation.”
We have been actively involved in social and charitable projects at the grass root levels.
Our service centres are always rakyat-oriented and we have been successful in helping to resolve many cases involving late registration for birth certificates and MyKad.
We are also helping many poor people to apply for government low cost housing and we are assisting them also in education matters and aiding those who require financial support.
Over the past year we in SUPP has organised many public forums in our quest to play pivotal roles in getting back the rights we lost to the federal administration.
A s we welcome the Chinese New Year, let us all give our undivided backing to CM Adenan and to Sarawak BN so that we will be able to face the future as one united Sarawak family,” he added.
