Padawan Chairman Lo on danger of mosquitoes

Dengue fever has been escalating in the rural areas the last two months, said Padawan Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang.

He said his council has to be precise in their fogging as if they were not able to kill the mosquito carrying dengue virus and should it survive the fogging they need a stronger chemical in our next lot of fogging.

“These chemicals are not healthy for humans either. Let’s bear in mind that dengue mosquitoes only breed in clean water. Murky water will not breed dengue mosquito.: So it requires everyone’s effort to empty containers , plants that can harbour clean water,” he added.

He added that dengue mosquito will only carry dengue virus after it bites a person who is a dengue carrier. And not all dengue mosquitoes are dangerous.

He called to the people that other fact to be aware is dengue mosquito have been known to fly over a 3km radius while it carries the virus. It is therefore pertinent that the fight against dengue requires the combined efforts of the community with the medical department and the council .
