Dato’ Sebastian Ting calls for help for Athena Kho who has hearing problem
SUPP Secretary General, Dato’ Sebastian Ting called to members of the public to assist Athena Kho Yuan, 2 who has a hearing problem.
Ting said Athena is unable to hear or speak unless she goes for cochlear implants quickly.
Her mother, Jenny Wee Hui Sing, said Athena is her youngest child and was diagnosed with hearing problems soon after she was born at Miri Hospital on Nov 1, 2013.
She was told that the only solution is cochlear implant that will cost RM140,000.
Jenny said she has five children and the family has no choice but to ask for public’s assistance. The family has only managed to raise RM30,000.
Ting hoped the public could help by donating through Sarawak Cochlear Implant Association.
He said they did a similar fund-raising exercise in October last year for Ivan Ling, whose operation was a success. Ling’s plight was also announced through the media and members of the public has come forward to help him.
Ting hoped the generous public would come forward to help Athena as it was for a noble cause.
Ting said those who can help are requested to donate through Sarawak Cochlear Implant Society (Public Bank account 3196459717) or contact SUPP Piasau (ask for Jess at 085-423399).
