SUPP undivided support for the Prime Minister

President of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said SUPP will give their undivided support to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib as Prime Minister as the party believes that he is still the best person to bring about beneficial changes needed for Malaysia.

We are with our YAB Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem to give our support to Najib, who has shown his concern for Sarawak since he took over as the Prime Minister.

“The Prime Minister has frequently paid visits to Sarawak since taking over to give Sarawakians a sense of belonging as Malaysians and it  was Najib who recognised the importance of September 16 as a date for Malaysia Day. He declared a national public holiday to celebrate the Malaysia day,  50 years after independence of which was greatly appreciated by all Sarawakians,” he added.

We must also not forget that the Prime Minister had also shown concern for the rural people and had granted billions of Ringgit to Sarawak last Tuesday when he launched the construction of the Pan Borneo Highway in Bintulu.

“I was also touched by his immediate decision made on the spot when I voiced the lack of beds in the Sarawak General Hospital and the opportunity to use the SIMC as Sarawak General Hospital Heart centre. Such a leader is one who showed his concern and the courage to make decision which will benefit the people. With such attitude from a caring leader, we shall stand by him,” he said.

Among the other things he did, Sim said the PM has not  only given funding to schools but through SUPP’s recommendation, he has given not less than $6 million to churches and temples in Sarawak in the last years. No Prime Minister had ever shown such a gesture to Sarawak, Dr. Sim added.

He  said recently the Prime Minister had asked Malaysians to give him a chance and we will give him this chance to continue to lead us as we firmly believe that he will bring us to see better days ahead.

Barisan Nasional, he added will win the next general election. With him and the  Sarawak Chief Minister, they both  made a great team to ensure the better future for Sarawak thus we as part of the BN coalition must stand firmly behind him. We will continue  our role in the coalition Barisan Nasional government to serve the people.
