Helping to get land as a Cemetery for Iban community

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by representatives from Persatuan Ketua Masyarakat Dan Tuai Rumah Kaum Iban, Bahagian Kuching (PEMAIK) informing him that they have applied to Land & Survey Department, Serian Division for a parcel of state land located at 12^th Mile, Jalan Puncak Borneo for usage as a Cemetery for the Iban community in Kuching.

According to the representatives of PEMAIK, Land & Survey Department, Serian Division have replied requesting for comments on their application from Sarawak Natural Resources & Environment Board, Serian Resident and District Office and Sarawak Rivers Board before their application can be processed.

SUPP PCB have written to Sarawak Natural Resources & Environment Board, Serian Resident and District Office and Sarawak Rivers Board to support the application.

In the event the land at 12^th Mile, Jalan Puncak Borneo is not suitable, SUPP PCB will try to render further assistance through the proper Government Channel in identifying another suitable parcel of state land for use as an Iban Cemetery for the Iban community in Kuching.
