Sarawakians should stay united in fighting for their interests, welfare
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian has urged Sarawakians to stay united in fighting for their interests and welfare, just like what Sabah state government is giving authority to the fishing industry.
He was speaking at the 70th anniversary dinner of Kotak Fishermen Association here on Sunday .
Dr. Sim noted that Sabah state government had authority to manage its fishery industry and hoped that Sarawak would enjoy similar autonomy. However, he urged local fishermen and business owner to upgrade their fishing equipment and skills for better harvest. This would enable them to earn more while ensuring steady supply of fish and seafood products for the local market in a win-win situation.
Also present was Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kuching Fu Jijun.
