Repairing the Miri wet market damaged by storm
Miri Piasau State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and City Mayor Adam Yii went to check on the wet market where the roof was blown off two days ago.
The duo went yesterday morning to see how best they could help the hawkers continue with their business. Ting said they will restructure the whole roof for the wet market.
The freaky stormy weather with rainfall lasted for two hours hit Miri city causing trees to fall onto cars and buildings, besides many roofs blown off.
Unfortunately, the wet market in the city centre is one of the casualties. A study on the estimate cost to repair the damage is being made, but at the moment temporary measures are taken to have the roof covered as the hawkers need to run their business.
There are more than 30 stalls in the area.
