Lo: sport will unite different race and religion
State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang said at the closing of the Adenan Satem Cup basket ball competition held at Mile 7 basketball court on Sunday night that sport events will unite all races and religions.
Speaking at the closing of Adenan Satem cup, he said the event will bring all together, regardless of race, culture or religion. ” I’m sure our late Tok Nan would love, as it’s always been his direction in leading us, he said”.
Thanking sponsors for organising such events, he said the proceed and collection of the tournaments were given to charitable bodies to help underprivileged children, particularly those in need of education and medical aid. “This indeed is a noble act and also with sport events, this would enhance ties between basketball enthusiasts and competing teams from the multi-ethnic community in Sarawak in the spirit of 1Malaysia, This tournament symbolizes so many great qualities.”
Lo thanked Puan Sri YB Jamilah Anu for giving her utmost support for this Adenan Satem Cup 2017 and expressed his deep appreciation for our late chief minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem for his contribution to the state and the people of Sarawak.
