Statement by SUPP Youth Central Chairman, Tan Kai
1. Since the Chief Minister had announced the sending of a team of lawyers to London to search for documents relating to MA63, the Malaya based Opposition, especially the DAP, had repeatedly making statements kidding over the action. It indicates that the Opposition, especially the DAP, never want Sarawak to regain her autonomy.
2.Sarawakians treasure their autonomy. They earnestly hope the Government would get back more rights that Sarawak should enjoy. But the Malaya base DAP, out of its selfish political motives, has done every thing possible to deter the gaining of the autonomy.
3.The Resources and Research Centre of SUPP has collections of many valuable historical documents, especially those relating to MA63. DAP had never thoroughly read the newspaper reports on July 14 last year, nor heard the recording of the press conference before making malicious statement. It reflects the fact that DAP had never done any homework before making misleading statement trying to mislead the people.
4. Why does the DAP stick to the report of one newspaper? Did the DAP understand the different between the first paragraph and the whole news report? DAP only looks at the headline of the report. This is in fact a typical political tactic aiming to discredit SUPP.
5.The former PM Dr. Mahathir had during his rule of the Government, had tried all means to ignore and suppress the requests of autonomy from Sarawak. He never wanted Sarawak to enjoy more rights and autonomy.
6.We appeal to all the Sarawakians to consolidate behind the Sarawak Government in her actions to get back the autonomy.
