Tan Kai: DAP should not be making stale statement
Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth Chairman, Tan Kai challenged DAP Chong Chieng Jen to lodge a police report after hitting back at them for making stale statement.
Tan Kai, in a press statement, said the DAP press conference on Thursday showing two blurred cheque of RM500,000 each claiming that the money given to SUPP was from 1MBD fund is history.
He said the cheques were allegedly issued in 2013 and 2014 of which the Party president was Tan Sri Peter Chin who had already issued a statement to explain the cheques.
“Why do they need to do so? Dont they have any more topic left to slander SUPP? What about their own. They constructed a road costing RM209 million for 20 km stretch in Penang. And what about Dr. Mahathir
scandal on the Forex exchange costing RMUSD 10 million? They are bundled with controversial issues but they still do not acknowledge their own faults. And also Penang CM bought a house that is far below the market price. Even though the case is ongoing, he still continue to work as CM,” he said.
Tan Kai said if Chong had the evidence then he should go and lodge a police report and let the police do the investigation.
Asking the DAP to apologize to all SUPP members, Tan Kai said this is the correct way to make good their allegation.
Last year, Past President, Chin said he was alerted and made aware of an online publication by the Sarawak Report of the cheque dated 2013.
Saying that SUPP IT team is working on the authenticity of the image in question as he wanted to put a stop to the line of witch hunting against the current President who was elected into office in 2014.
Chin had urged voters not to be swayed by the tactics of the Opposition and wanted to assure every voter that SUPP had not done anything illegal under the existing law in the country.
