A grand celebration will be held for the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) starting today (Thursday), with a dinner highlight this Saturday.

In a press conference yesterday, the Chairperson of the SUPP Kuching branch, Datuk Lily Yong said the celebration is to commemorate the 58th anniversary of the party of which the Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari will be the guest of honour.

Not wanting the public to miss out the occasions, she said on Thursday at 6 pm, at the Kuching branch, there will be a local food fair followed by a Karaoke competition and an official opening of the celebration by Party president, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui hian.

There will be a beer drinking session and an exhibition on the history of the party.

On Saturday, there will be another gathering of beer competition, followed by a karaoke competition.

The highlight of the anniversary will be the dinner at Pullman Hotel where Barisan Nasional leaders are invited to attend. Lily expected more than 1000 guests for the night.

She also thanked sponsors for contributing towards the anniversary.
