Celebrating International Women’s Day

Lo Khere Chiang, Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, yesterday went to Sg. Maong wet market to present roses to women there in conjunction with the International Woman’s Day

“Every year we celebrate International Women’s day with a lot of enthusiasm, today we are here to honour women with talent and capability. I get to interact with women who inspire with their stories of determination, challenges and survival.

What really struck me during the brief interactions I had with them, was the support and encouragement they gave each other, appreciating and applauding each other on this wonderful day,” he said.

On International Day for women, huge sentiments are expressed about the power of women and many proverbs and poems directed towards women.

It is really nice to have a special day for yourself where you are glorified to a point of being honoured, awarded, and filled with love.

“I would like to thankfully acknowledge my mother, my dad and my family and their role in supporting me, developing my confidence, treating me on par with my siblings, while encouraging me to believe that I was better if not equally as good as anyone else in this world.

This faith reposed in me, helped me stand up for myself and rise time after time, in spite of setbacks and falls in life and still be able to stand tall and face life courageously with enthusiasm and a smile.
