Citizens’ involvement in maintaining city’s well being
Minister for Local government, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian expressed his concern when he found out that for certain areas in Batu Kawa, there where more than 20 street lights which are not working for more than 2 weeks!
Dr. Sim said he has called up Sarawak Energy at 1am on its line 1300883111 to report!
” Some thing is very wrong. Either our system of maintenance is not working or our citizens are also not bothered!”
“I had directed my Ministry to have more greater citizen involvement to be the “eyes & ears” in helping all the councils in Sarawak on scheduled works, (which will be published in the local community) on drain cleaning and grass cuttings.
Together we can make your local area a better living place (let’s don’t just finger pointing but let’s act),” he stressed.
