SPCB helping out on an application for extension of lease of land
The son of a deceased landowner from Bako recently approached the SUPP Public Complaints Bureau asking for assistance to make inquiries with Land & Survey Department on the status of his application for extension of the lease of her late mother’s land in Bako.
The son informed that he had on behalf of his late mother applied to Land & Survey Department for renewal of the lease on the land but the answer given to him every time he went to Land & Survey to inquire on the status of the application for renewal was that the same was pending and under consideration. His application for renewal of his late mother’s land was supported by the previous YB for DUN N.4 Demak Laut, Dr Abang Haji Abdul Rauf Bin Abang Haji Zen.
The son also informed that he and his late mother have been occupying the land since the 1950s and that he is still occupying and using the said land to run his small business and that it would cause him great hardship if the land lease is not renewed.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau promised to try to assist and have since written to Land & Survey Department to enquire on the status of his application which has been pending for more than ten years and appealed on his behalf for the renewal of the said land.
