Dr Sim: lion dance should go international
Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian said the lion dance troupes in Sarawak should aim for international recognition instead of being contented locally.
A lion dance performance is something where teamwork is important,” he said at the launch of the Sarawak Southern Traditional Lion Dance Championship 2016 at Vivacity Megamall.
Dr Sim, who is also Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president, said he was glad that the lion dance is participated by all races, showing a united Sarawak.
Sixteen teams from around Sarawak competed for the championship.
