Dr Sim: What was pledged will be fulfilled

President of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian who did his walkabout this morning at the City Mall to thank his voters said he will be going around as he believed that to go to the ground is the best way to serve the people.

Dr. Sim said as assured, he will look to his manifesto to help the people. On small items like roads and other infrastructures he will tackle them as soon as possible.

For big project that need a lot of funding like flood mitigation plans, he will sit down with the relevant authority to ensure that they would address the problem. Although it may take years, he said they would do it in stages.

This, he said, the people had to wait until the cabinet is formed which will be very soon.

He also called to the new State assemblymen elected and the members of United People’s Party (UPP) to return to the fold of SUPP.

Adding that the UPP Yb were from the SUPP before, they know each other and were familiar with the party policies. He believed that they would be able to form a strong mandate.

The matter, he added, had been discussed with the Chief Minister and at the end of the day, it will be his (CM) prerogative. Dr. Sim pointed out that during the last BN supreme council meeting, Adenan had said as guiding principal that the seat still belonged to the respective component party so after the election, the BN direct should go back to their respective party.

Saying that he is sincere in wanting to welcome them back, Dr. Sim said they also have to go under the constitution of the party or else, if anyone were to complain, the party will be de-registered as what had almost happened in 2014.

On the ranking of each party, Dr. Sim said no matter how many seats the party has, the hierarchy of the party will remain the same. This is due to the protocol system, he added.

Thanking the people for giving SUPP their trust, Dr. Sim said he still believe that by going to the ground is the best solution to solve the people’s problem.

His operation centre at Batu Kawa will be converted to the service centre on the ground floor as the operation centre on the second floor is too high for the elderly who wished to seek help there.

He assured that the party leaders will be coming up with a 100-day report cards based on their work after winning the election and would see that what was pledged would be fulfilled.
