Party’s CWC deliberations on Mar 24.

It is an extremely challenging time leading to the coming state election for SUPP.  During its CWC today, the party deliberated on the following:

1.   CWC deliberated at length on the preparation of SUPP branches and Central on the coming state election under the new leadership with new strategies and approaches (#SUPP campaign war trucks and mascot ‘WeCan Bee”, enhance new alternative media in addition to compulsory Turun Padang, etc).

2.   We had submitted our nominated list of candidates to Sarawak BN Chairman, YAB Tan Sri Adenan Satem as well as National BN Chairman, YAB Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak.

3.   BN Direct candidate is such an important issue, thus we are seeking the BN Supreme Council to deliberate on it as it has wide ranging implications to BN as a whole. The strength of BN over the last 50 years has been about helping each other (in politics, every Party will have ups and downs and in 1987 SUPP came to help a fellow component Party ), ensuring BN unity, keeping to BN principles of consensus, respectful partnership, and ensuring democracy through power sharing.

4.   As a founding member of BN in 1972 (5th member out of 13), SUPP has always been a loyal and sincere contributing partner of BN. SUPP will continue to fight for the best interest of Sarawakians through BN.

5.  After lengthy deliberation, CWC felt that at this point of time, it is premature to call for a Special Delegate Conference (SDC).

6.   We understand in any election, the most important is to win.  To win the heart of the rakyat (voters) so they will entrust their vote to you.  The Rakyat will look at BN not just on popular policy, on candidates, and party track records but also on principles, fairness, and sincerity.  We need to listen to the voices of the Rakyat as they are the ultimate judge and jury.

7.     I urge Party members and supporters to focus on winning the coming state election. Party members need to remain calm, united and be disciplined. SUPP needs our Sarawakians to give us a chance, to allow us to be strong again so that we can go back to the spirit of the 60’s and 70’s during which Sarawakian interest will always be first.

8.     Only Sarawakians will be able to make SUPP strong again.  Please give the new SUPP leadership a chance so that united, we can make a difference.
