Bringing people together through sports – Dato Sebastian
A sport carnival can bring people together in harmony, said Piasau Chairman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting when officiating the Majlis Ketua Masyarakat Melayu Miri (MAKMUM) Sunday morning.
Speaking to the 600 strong crowd at Kampung Piasau Utara, Ting said he was happy to see so many kampong people turning up for the sporting event. Not only this will foster harmony among the people but also create a healthy lifestyle.
He said he hoped to see the carnival organized annually. And that as many kampong folks will turn up like this time.
Ting said it was a good Sunday to see people smiling, exercising and bonding. “In the kampong, this is important as this show your concern for one another. Through this, we build harmony among us,” he added.
Twelve games were played which included fun games besides the normal races.
