A Helping Hand

SUPP Woman Central Chief, Tnay Li Ping passed her hat around and collected RM1000 from SUPP members to help out a family whose sole breadwinner was killed in an accident on Monday night.
Tnay, who went to pay the last respect to Chai Ah Onn, 45 today at the Tong Sin Siang Tng, said Chia worked as a labourer and has eight children, the eldest 19. She is now in a coma at the Sarawak General hospital as she was riding pillion at the time of her father’s accident.
Besides giving monetary aid, the SUPP Woman’s Welfare section also assisted Chai’s widow, Bong Nyet Lin, to apply for Welfare.
Tnay said the Woman’s section has set up a committee to collect cash for Bong and those who wished to lend a helping hand can contact SUPP Headquarters and ask for Miss Jee.
