第3届婆罗洲糖尿病大会主持开幕礼
砂旅游、创意产业及表演艺术部副部长（旅游）拿督陈超耀代表副总理兼公共卫生、房屋及地方政府部长拿督阿玛沈桂贤，为第三届婆罗洲糖尿病大会主持开幕。 今年的大会吸引超过400名代表出席，涵盖医生、护士、专职医疗人员及研究人员，来自砂拉越、沙巴、汶莱及西马，体现了跨婆罗洲乃至跨区域的合作精神。 陈超耀指出，糖尿病是当今最严峻的公共卫生挑战之一。根据2023年全国健康与发病率调查，全国有18.3%成年人口患有糖尿病，几乎每五名成年人就有一人确诊。在砂拉越，比例略低，为14%至15%，但随着肥胖率上升，情况依然令人担忧。数据显示，几乎一半砂拉越成年人已属体重过重或肥胖。 他说，因此砂政府已将糖尿病与肥胖问题列为公共卫生重点，并推行多项举措，包括： 他强调，类似的大会对糖尿病防治工作至关重要，不仅有助于知识交流，也能推动伙伴关系，探索创新方法，提升临床实践，强化社区能力，并为公共政策提供参考。 陈超耀代表砂政府感谢大会主办方、医疗专业人士及合作伙伴的付出，并说唯有通过奉献、创新与合作，才能为砂拉越及婆罗洲地区建立更健康的未来。
