Electrical Meter Wiring Fire at KMC Flat, SUPP Kuching Youth Ensures Resident’s Safety

A fire caused by faulty electrical meter wiring broke out at a three-storey KMC Flat in Bakong on Tuesday and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
SUPP Kuching Youth Chief Nicholas Wung Duk Ying, together with several youth members, rushed to the scene immediately to assess the situation and contacted the relevant authorities for assistance.
The Padungan Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) and Sarawak Electricity Supply Corporation (SESCO) responded promptly, taking swift action to contain the fire and inspect the wiring system to prevent further risks. Power supply was temporarily disrupted for several units but has since been restored after repair works.
“We are grateful to Padungan Bomba and SESCO for their dedication and quick response during a public holiday. We will continue to monitor the situation and push for solutions to ensure everyone’s safety, ” he said.
He also reminded residents to be vigilant, stressing the importance of regular checks on household electrical systems and seeking professional help immediately during emergencies.
