沈桂贤：砂政府计划全砂公共场所安装AED
砂拉越公共卫生、房屋与地方政府部计划在全砂所有公共场所安装自动体外除颤器（AED），以提升应对心脏骤停等紧急情况的准备水平。 砂副总理兼砂公共卫生、房屋及地方政府部长拿督阿玛沈桂贤医生表示，当局正推动修订《建筑条例》，以纳入相关新规定，其中就包括强制在公共场所设置AED的条文。 “我们已经拟定了《建筑条例》的修正案，目前正等待砂拉越律政署进行审查，希望能在下一次砂议会会议中提呈。修正案中的其中一项新规定，就是在公共场所设立AED的要求，这项举措非常及时。” 他是在出席砂拉越其他宗教事务单位（UNIFOR）与古晋红新月会AED移交仪式后，接受记者访问时，如是表示。 拿督阿玛沈桂贤医生补充，心脏疾病是砂拉越的头号杀手，而许多时候，人们常目睹有人突然倒地的情况。 他说，在这种突发情形下，若附近设有AED，便有机会挽救生命。 不过，他也强调，光是设置AED还远远不够，关键还在于公众是否具备使用相关设备的知识。 “我们必须确保人民懂得进行心肺复苏术（CPR），以及正确操作AED。正因如此，来自马来西亚红新月会、马来西亚圣约翰救伤队，以及砂大（UNIMAS）等机构的培训就显得格外重要。” 此外，砂公共卫生、房屋及地方政府部也正借此机会更新各项与建筑相关的条例，包括即将推出的“绿色指数（Green Index）”，以呼应砂拉越总理所倡导的可持续发展愿景。
