Kuching Street Parade held in conjunction with 60th anniversary of Sarawak independence
It was another awesome street performance by the people of Kuching where more than 60 teams comprising of 3,000 people from the kampung, schools and colleges with different cultural groups, martial arts, Silats, Tai – chi, Marching bands, NGO, local councils, Government agencies and PDRM took to the streets in Saturday in Kuching center, said Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian. He thanked everyone for joining in the celebration of Sarawak 60th anniversary celebration. Dr. Sim said Sarawakians must maintain and appreciate the harmony Sarawak had enjoyed.

An estimated of 700 new dialysis patients was diagnosed annually while 350 Sarawakians died annually after undergoing dialysis for 15 to 20 years, said Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian. 沈桂贤：砂每年需要额外59台洗肾仪器
砂拉越每年至少需额外59台洗肾仪器，以应付逐年增加的肾脏病患者需求。 砂副总理兼石角区议员拿督斯里沈桂贤指出，砂拉越每年约有700新肾脏病患者，他们都需要通过洗肾来维持生命。 他披露，一般上，大约有350名患者在接受15至20年的洗肾后，会不治身亡。 沈桂贤巡视位于石角的Sacred Hope 洗肾中心后如此表示。 在巡视该中心期间，他听取该中心医疗团队的服务汇报，同时也宣布捐献三台洗肾仪器给该中心。这三台洗肾仪器由其本身、砂拉越人民联合党石角支部和华总捐献，每台仪器价格为5万令吉。 沈桂贤表示，我们仍然需要更多的洗肾仪器，以应付350新的患者需求，以每台仪器可供6名患者使用的比率，砂拉越仍需额外59台洗肾仪器。 他指出，上述三个单位所捐献的三台洗肾仪器，可协助18名肾脏病患者延续他们15至20年生命。 他呼吁各界能集中资源，为该中心筹集更多的洗肾仪器，以协助砂拉越贫穷肾脏病患者。 与此同时，沈桂贤也呼吁联邦卫生部为砂拉越提供更多经费援助，以协助面对严重经费不足医药服务领域。
