Former CM posthumously awarded Pehin Sri
Sarawak’s fifth Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, was posthumously presented the Pingat Satria Bintang Sarawak (SBS), which carries the title Pehin Sri, during an investiture ceremony at Astana Negeri here yesterday. Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud presented the award to Adenan’s widow Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu, who is Tanjong Datu assemblywoman. SBS – the highest award conferred by the state government – acknowledges Adenan’s service and dedication to the people of Sarawak.

俞小珊指示美里市议会修理受风灾破坏设施
美里市长俞小珊表示，昨日美里遭受风灾，对许多建筑带来破坏，庆幸的是，没传出伤亡报告。 他代表美里市议会对受到风灾影响的市民表示遗憾，并已经指示市议会，立刻修理所有受到风灾破坏的设施。与此同时，市议会景观部门也将会马上修建市区的树木，以让风灾发生时，树枝倒下的风险可以减至最低。 俞小珊说，经过这场风灾后，美里市议会将检讨市区建筑的结构如屋顶，希望未来可以减少屋顶掀起或建筑结构遭破坏的事件。他强调，美里市议会向来都是以公众安全为重。 他保证，美里市议会将与砂拉越灾难处理及拯救委员会密切合作，应对风灾过后的处理工作。

Strong winds in Miri
Strong winds had caused devastating damages to many roofings, building structures and uprooting trees yesterday afternoon and this morning at various locations in Miri.
