Support group for stroke patients
State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang set up a support group for stroke patients in his area since last September. So far there were four persons under the Support group with a volunteer nurse, Lucas Lee. Lo paid a return visit to Roslan bin Toni aged 28 at Kampung Betong and was happy with his progress. 砂人联党朋岭支部青年团秘书符祥威，本固鲁陈兴枝，南市市议员吴芝辉和宋开强等人于日前前往肯雅兰商业中心勘察之前被火烧毁的某家店面，并且要排南市公共卫生局提供大型垃圾桶以协助清理被燃烧的废物。 符祥威感谢南市市议员的协助和南市公共卫生局在接获他的要求后就第一时间安排大型垃圾桶以方便业主清理该火烧残留的废物和污迹以便照顾卫生和避免斑蚊滋长，以便更有效杜绝骨痛热症的发生。 同时，符祥威一行人也拜访斑蚊症患者的家属以表示慰问。 过后，符祥威也走访肯雅兰菜市场和小贩们互相交流并聆听他们的民生问题和意见。经过交流后，小贩们也要求符祥威代他们向南市市政局反映并希望能够将菜市场重新粉刷和安装新的风扇。因为目前有多个风扇已陈旧或太小，造成二楼的美食中心不通风和闷热，而且肯雅兰菜市场也多年未上新漆和进行粉刷。 符祥威也答应小贩们会尽力帮他们把有关事项转达给南市，并希望南市可以尽快的在肯雅兰菜市场进行粉刷油上新漆以涣然一新。

移交拨款予圣安教堂
副首长拿督阿玛道格拉斯与砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤于23日一起移交来自砂拉越政府的200万令吉拨款予10哩圣安教堂，作为该新教堂的建筑经费。 据悉，该笔拨款是首席部长拿督阿玛阿邦佐哈里答应拨出。他们俩是将拨款支票移交给圣安教堂神父基勒卫多。 道格拉斯表示，除了来自砂州政府的200万令吉拨款之外，首相拿督斯里纳吉也答应拨出200万令吉给予圣安教堂，而后者于本月9日还亲自到访该教堂建筑工地，听取建筑进展汇报。 “这坐新教堂颇有规模，而联邦与砂州政府都全力支持这项工程。” 位于10哩的圣安教堂，其新教堂工程是于2014年9月17日开始动工，占地6英亩，整个建筑经费约为1800万令吉。 这所教堂有约2000名教友，多数是来自附近的居民。由于旧有的教堂空间窄小及闷热，教堂神父与教友在约10年前开始筹募经费，兴建一所较宽敞且舒适的教堂，预计在竣工后，教堂内殿和外围可容纳约5000人。 该教堂工程预料在今年4月份竣工，并且开始启用。
沈桂贤见证美里居民委员会宣誓
砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤于日前在美里民事中心见证美里15区居民委员会宣誓就职仪式。 出席者包括史纳汀区州议员拿督李景胜、地方政府部助理部长拿督朋光曼吉及美里市长俞小珊。 沈桂贤在致词时，呼吁人民不要只会将民生课题上载至脸书，反之应更积极的去解决问题，除非是自我宣传。 他说，各造不应一味手指指，除非要自我宣传，拍照上载脸书，给人感觉没有诚意协助解决自己居住社区的问题。他指出，社区居民应活跃于解决问题，如此才能对自己的社区享有最佳环境及无罪案率感到自豪。 “这些小小的事情累集起来，可为自己居住的社区打造成与众不同的环境。” 此外，他表示，社会元素是打造宜居城市极其重要的元素，否则一座城市就会变成“鬼城”。他说，宜居城市的定意不仅仅是拥有良好的硬体设施，如完善的医院、没有交通阻塞及拥有干净食水等。 他强调，社会事项打造宜居城市，否则大家去到一些鬼城，就会发现大兴土木，拥有万丈高楼及康庄大道，却无人居住。他表示，当一个地方无人居住，尽管没有罪案率，但是却不是宜居的地方。 他希望美里居民委员会真正取得成功，打响美里的名堂，让当地市民感到自豪及归宿感。 他说，无论是罪案率、环境课题及小民生课题，只有社区居民最清楚，而身在办公室的官员很难知道。他认为，地方议会及市民彼此都扮演各自的角色及贡献，确保自己的地方最宜居，最终居民是最大受益者。 他提议砂地方政府提供年度拨款，以推动最佳社区挑战赛，并颁发奖杯给得奖社区。
罗克强探望中风病患
巴都吉当区州议员兼巴达旺市议会主席罗克强于23日下午，前往十哩兰迪甘榜勿洞的住家探访年轻中风患者罗斯兰。 罗斯兰在经数个月治疗后，如今可以自行站立，再也不需长期躺在床上。 去年于开斋节期间，驾驶汽车出外的罗斯兰因突然中风关系而发生交通意外，导致脑部溢血必须接受长期治疗，在经过数次的手术疗程及巴都吉当区中风关怀医疗小组医疗负责人李志存的照料下，罗斯兰的病情已逐渐好转。不过，如今的他仍然需要唯靠轮椅代步，以轮椅支撑下需要家人照料，但他已能够站立起来。 现年28岁的罗斯兰，在未发生意外前于一家数码公司任职，在意外发生后也获得公司的福利，除了获得福利部的福利金外，同时也继续获得公司的每月薪水，让他能够在无经济压力下疗养病情。 罗斯兰的双亲也为了要照料他，父亲更停下任职在工厂的工作，给予罗斯兰无微不至的照顾。热爱足球运动的罗斯兰表示，在完全康复后希望能够再次做运动，好好调养自己的身体。 有幸获得医疗负责人李志存的照料下，就连平时的日常饮食习惯也必须留意，由于他目前左手严重中风还未能移动，因此乃需靠轮椅支撑。
公共投诉局处理建筑材料填沟问题
砂拉越人民联合党公共投诉局主任叶耀星日前接获来自Taman Hong Hong, Jalan BurungLilin 的居民投诉有屋主私自修筑涵洞及把剩余的建筑材料填入沟渠以作为接驳自家土地的用途。 收到投诉后，叶耀星与巴达旺市议会执法单位及工程部官员前往现场实地考察以寻求解决方案。 在非法施工现场视察中，巴达旺市议会执法单位根据1994年建筑物法典第8A条文发出停工通知。另外也在1996年地方议会法令第131(1)(a)条文下发出通知要求屋主在14天内把沟渠恢复到原本的状态。 该屋主现已将涵洞移走，砂拉越人民联合党公共投诉局在此感谢屋主与巴达旺市议会合作，有效地解决问题。 砂拉越人民联合党公共投诉局提醒居民不要把剩余的建筑材料填入沟渠以充当自家土地用途。这会影响水流量进而导致水灾。 人联公共投诉局已做好准备并尝试通过相关部门解决影响社区的公共议题。人联党公共投诉局已准备好为面对相关问题却不懂得如何处理的民众伸出援手。任何相关事宜可联系人联党公共投诉（016-7797688或082246999）或亲临人联党总部。
Community Police are the eyes and ears of the local authority
Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian yesterday reminded the Community Police of their role as the eyes and ears of the local authority – but not only to assist the police but also to channel the voice of the people to the local authority. Complaints of dumping of culverts and building waste materials by residents at Taman Hong Hong
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) was recently approached by the residents staying at Taman Hong Hong, Jalan Burung Lilin. Their spokesperson complained of dumping of culverts and building waste materials for construction of an access to a house by the owner. 砂拉越人民联合党拿督沈桂贤服务团队及石角民众服务中心将在本星期日（26日）举行新选民注册及更换投票选区服务。 有关活动从当天上午10时，至下午1时30分，于石角民众服务中心举行。石角民众服务中心位于石角拿督张君光大桥旁38商业中心，面向大路商店。 主办单位呼吁尚未注册的适龄民众到时前往注册，至于那些想要更换投票地点的民众也可前往询问。不过根据法律，选民的投票区必须根据他们身份证的地址，因此若民众想要更换投票区，他们要先更换身份证上的地址。 选委会的工作人员会在现场协助民众注册及提供各项意见，民众受促记得携带身份出席。

砂人联党巴都吉当区州议员兼巴达旺市议会主席罗克强于日前率领为数15人的市议员代表团，前往Trienekens（砂）有限公司所管理治下的芒蒙区古晋综合固体垃圾处理场进行参观访问活动。 由Trienekens（砂）有限公司所管理治下的芒蒙区古晋综合固体垃圾处理场，每天接收来自古晋3个地方议会管辖区内的513吨垃圾量。属于第4级的该综合固体垃圾处理场，收集和处理的该3个地方议会区内垃圾，即是古晋南北市政局和巴达旺市议会。 一行人此行是学习该垃圾处理场的土埋运作设施，以及如何对增长的人口所产生的大量垃圾进行系统式和有效的处置形式。该垃圾处理场所采用的设备和仪器，目的也在于减少损害环境，以及垃圾毒害外泄的风险。 芒蒙综合固体垃圾处理场是接收和处理所有东马区地方议会辖区内的固体垃圾和有毒废料。主要是分成4大部分，即地方议会的垃圾和废物土埋场、有毒废物的处理、污水过滤厂，以及各种有毒废料的处置。
School in need of repair
Piasau State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting together with Temenggong, Pemanca, Penghulu went to the SK Agama (MIS) for a site visit. Request for upgrading of basketball court
State Assemblyman for Piasau, Dato’ Sebastian Ting said they had received a letter from the basketball players in Piasau Garden requesting to upgrade the place. Yesterday, he went with the residents and City Council’s landscape officer and SUPP Piasau Youths to check on it . After the discussion, he said the City Council officers had taken noted on some of the main issues. They will also submit the grievances to the Council relevant authorities to look into and help.
