Precautions against dengue
Due to a dengue breakout at Kenyalang Park recently (where more than 10 dengue cases were reported since Chinese New Year), SUPP Pending Branch Youth Secretary Milton Foo, Penghulu Tan Heng Kee, MBKS councilors Goh Tze Hui and Patrick Song went to the Kenyalang Commercial Center on Wednesday morning to do an inspection on a burnt down shoplot which is suspected to be the cause of dengue cases in the area.
Giant bins were also arranged by Mbks public health department under Foo’s request to facilitate the shop owner and his workmen to clear the burning debris on the said faithful day.
Foo and his team also paid a visit to the family member who contracted dengue at the Kenyalang Commercial Centre.
The team then proceeds to walk about at Kenyalang Wet Market to meet the hawkers, a number of whom highlighted to Foo that the market needs better ventilation especially the food centre which is located on the first floor of the market where most fans are either too small, obsolete or not functioning.
The request for giving the market a new coat of paint was also made. The hawkers hope Foo can bring up the matter to the Council and Foo promised he shall do his best.
