砂首长署政治秘书程明智指出，有志加入警队服务的非土著及原住民年轻男女，华裔青年，可响应2021年大马皇家警察部队特别招募，录取条件是更为放松。他引述警队所发布的此项特别招募行动，是由本月18日（周四）开始，直至本月31日截止，凡年龄达18岁至28岁之间的非土著年轻男女，可以通过官网：e-PENGAMBILAN PDRM提出申请。他声称，申请者需持有大马教育文凭，国文科必须及格，有近视者也可申请等，若有任何疑问，可在办公时间致电：03-22668348/8350/8351，向警队录取单位探询。根据警队当局公布，目前华裔仅占1.66%（1959人）、印裔有1.66%（3422人），而其他则16%（1万8929人）；土著是唯一比例居高的族群，有严重失衡的现象。程明智日前联袂诗巫市议会主席丁永豪，到诗巫UTC重新开放首日巡视后发文告，他欢迎大马皇家警察部队，开展特别招募非土著及原住民，让更多非土著加入警队，加强警队多元种族色彩，希望能有更多华裔男女及原住民作申请。
