砂旅游、创意产业及表演艺术部日前派员到访美里,对“美里文化遗产径”(Miri Heritage Trail)沿线8处世界二战历史遗迹进行实地考察,评估景点现状及发展方向,以推动二战历史旅游发展。 此次考察团由砂旅游、创意产业及表演艺术部首席助理秘书蔡静芬率队,砂旅游部副部长拿督陈超耀亲自随行,就文化遗产整体规划、设施及旅游发展进行交流。考察涵盖的遗址包括布莱顿海滩日军登陆遗址(含灯塔、日本纪念碑及灯塔看守人之墓)、加拿大山一号油井、加拿大山英国水力水坝及二战防空洞、拿督柏迈苏里王后陵墓、瓜拉峇南第二十步兵旅英国碉堡、罗冰战俘营及处决场,以及加拿大山二战纪念公园。 陈超耀指出,这些遗址完整记录美里在日占时期的历史脉络,承载深厚的人文记忆与历史价值。美里文化遗产径汇聚本地最具代表性的二战遗迹,不仅具有重要历史教育意义,也具备可观的旅游发展潜力。他强调,推动文化遗产径不仅是发展旅游,更是让公众理解、铭记并传承本土历史。 陈超耀转述历史文献,美里文化遗产径在二战期间,曾有28名战俘及本地居民在此遭日军处决,布莱顿海滩是日军登陆美里的重要据点。灯塔看守人阿旺美达利在发现日军逼近时发出警报,试图通知各方应对,但不幸遇害,其墓地至今仍安葬于此,象征其英勇牺牲精神。灯塔旁的日本纪念碑则记录了当年在美里石油工业服务期间不幸丧命的各国人士,反映战争对不同族群及国家的共同伤痛。 他强调,这些遗址是重要的文化资产与教育现场,应妥善保护与传承,让后代了解战争历史,铭记和平的珍贵。
