Spirit of unity and shared responsibility key to Sarawak future, says Dr Sim
The spirit of unity, family values and shared responsibility must remain the core foundation in shaping the future of Sarawak, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian.
In his Christmas 2025 message, Dr Sim said Christmas is a special moment when people, regardless of background, return to gather with family, friends and loved ones to share joy, enjoy meals together and strengthen bonds.
This, he said, reflects the uniqueness and strength of Sarawak society, united as Anak Sarawak.
“Christmas reminds us of the strong sense of togetherness and family that defines Sarawak. It is this unity that has made our society resilient and strong,” he said.
Dr Sim noted that Sarawak in 2025 is very different compared to a decade ago, with the state now becoming a point of focus and reference at the national level.
As such, he called on all Sarawakians to play their respective roles and contribute according to their abilities for the collective progress of the state.
“We need to pause and reflect on what I can do for Sarawak and what we can do together for Sarawak,” he said.
He added that the festive season is a time to recharge so that Sarawakians can enter 2026 with renewed energy and a strong spirit to continue building the state.
“This is the time to recharge, so when we step into 2026, we begin again with the spirit of building Sarawak,” he said.
Dr Sim also emphasised Sarawak long term aspirations towards 2030, in line with efforts to develop a more advanced, competitive and prosperous state for future generations.
He concluded by praying for good health for all Sarawakians so that they can continue contributing to the development agenda and the building of Sarawak.
