RM200,000 UNIFOR GRANT PRESENTED TO SDA BATU KAWA CHURCH
The Seventh day Adventist SDA Batu Kawa Church today received a RM200,000 grant from the Sarawak Unit for Other Religions UNIFOR during a cheque presentation ceremony held at the church sanctuary.
The cheque was presented by Batu Kitang State Assemblyman Dato Ir. Lo Khere Chiang, reflecting the Sarawak Government continued commitment to supporting religious harmony and the development of non Muslim houses of worship.
The grant will be utilised for church development and improvement works, including upgrading facilities for worship, community activities and services for church members.
In his remarks, Lo reaffirmed the inclusive approach of the Sarawak Government in ensuring fair and equitable support for all religious communities, in line with Sarawak long standing values of unity, mutual respect and freedom of religion.
Representatives of the SDA Batu Kawa Church, comprising the Pastor, Elders, committee members and congregation, expressed their sincere appreciation to the Sarawak Government, UNIFOR and Lo for the contribution and for taking the time to visit the church.
The visit and cheque presentation further strengthened ties between the local community and their elected representative, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and goodwill in Batu Kitang.
