Dato IR Lo Khere Chiang Calls on JKKK to Hold Mass Circumcision Programmes More Frequently During School Holidays

Village Development and Security Committees or JKKK in Sarawak should organise mass circumcision programmes more frequently during school holidays as the initiative brings wide ranging benefits to the community, said Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato IR Lo Khere Chiang.

He said the programme is not only important for cleanliness and health but also offers many other advantages that are often overlooked.

Lo pointed out that mass circumcision programmes help ease the financial burden on parents while serving as a platform to strengthen unity and foster closer ties among the Muslim community in the state.

He said many do not realise that such programmes also help strengthen relationships between JKKK and villagers, especially families who need assistance to circumcise their sons.
“If every JKKK in each state constituency in Sarawak regularly organises mass circumcision programmes, there will be no boys of eligible age left out from undergoing circumcision.
“Therefore, every JKKK should make the mass circumcision programme a regular activity during school holidays,” he said.

Lo was officiating the School Holiday 2025 Mass Circumcision Programme organised by JKKK Block C Kampung Haji Baki at the Haji Baki Community Hall.

Also present were Block C community head Rosli Ahmad Darus, Block A community head Haji Harzmi Abd Rani and the chairman of the Sarawak Javanese Community Association Kampung Haji Baki branch.

A total of 20 participants took part in the programme, which marked the fifth time it was organised by the JKKK.
