Kota Sentosa projects move ahead with mbks collaboration

Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap witnessed the handover of Letters of Award (LOA) by Wee Hong Seng of Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan for two Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects aimed at improving infrastructure and addressing community needs in Kota Sentosa.

The first project under RTP 2026 was awarded to Spring Rain Construction, involving the upgrading of drainage and pedestrian walkways at the back lane of BDC Lorong D8A, Taman Satria Jaya, with a contract sum of RM350,000. The project is expected to enhance safety, improve accessibility, and resolve persistent drainage issues faced by residents.

Meanwhile, the RTP 2025 project was awarded to Syarikat Langit Cerah for the construction of new parking facilities and guard rails at Lorong 1, in front of the Dewan and Surau Al Mukhlis at Kampung Stutong Melayu, with a contract value of RM100,000. The initiative is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve convenience for the local community.

Yap said the implementation of these projects reflects strong collaboration between his office and MBKS as the implementing agency.

“This partnership ensures that the needs of the people are addressed efficiently and that development reaches the ground where it matters most,” he said.

He added that such joint efforts demonstrate a shared commitment to serving the people of Kota Sentosa through practical and impactful solutions.

“We will continue to work closely with MBKS and all relevant stakeholders to resolve issues and uplift the quality of life for our communities,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to MBKS, the contractors, and all parties involved for their efforts in delivering the projects.
