Wilfred Yap hands over RM10,000 grant to Sam San Kuet Bong Temple

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap today presented a RM10,000 Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant to Sam San Kuet Bong Temple to support its religious, cultural and community activities.

During his visit, Yap reaffirmed his commitment to supporting places of worship of all faiths in Kota Sentosa, recognising their role in fostering unity, preserving cultural heritage and promoting community welfare.

He said the Sarawak Government continues to uphold the principles of inclusivity, mutual respect and religious harmony, which have long contributed to the state’s stability and social cohesion.

Yap also inspected the ongoing granite tile installation and tiling works at the temple, which are being carried out through a separate RM20,000 MRP allocation he had secured for the project.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of the upgrading works, which are expected to be completed soon, providing a safer, cleaner and more comfortable environment for devotees and visitors.

Yap commended the temple committee for its efforts in overseeing the project and noted that such improvements help preserve community facilities while ensuring places of worship remain conducive for religious and social activities.

He also assured the committee that he would continue working closely with religious and community organisations throughout Kota Sentosa to address their needs and support projects that strengthen social harmony and improve residents’ well being.
