Adam Yii Presents RM65,000 MRP Grants to 24 Organisations in Miri
Pujut state assemblyman and Miri mayor Adam Yii today presented a total of RM65,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants to 24 recipients comprising non-governmental organisations, associations, schools, and cultural groups in Miri. The presentation ceremony was held at the SUPP Pujut branch service centre.
Yii said the MRP grants are state government allocations provided to associations, religious bodies, and schools to support their activities and daily operations. He expressed hope that the funds would bring tangible benefits to communities and members.
“The state government, through the MRP grants, continues to support organisations from various sectors to encourage local development, enrich cultural and sporting activities, and strengthen community unity in building a harmonious and progressive society,” he said.
Yii urged the recipients to make good use of the resources to organise more meaningful programmes that can promote community integration and development.
The beneficiaries included the Miri Hakka Association Senior Citizens Group, PWOUM (Miri Orang Ulu Women’s Association), Miri Table Tennis Association, Miri Blossom Dance Association, Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women’s Section, Miri Tsen Clan Association, Fire and Rescue Department Sports and Welfare Association (Miri Charity Run 8.0), SMK Pujut (STEM Carnival), Amura Karate Sarawak (2025 Training Camp and Padang, Indonesia Trip), Sarawak Taiwan Graduates Association Miri Branch (2025 Taiwan Higher Education Fair and Farewell Dinner), Miri Tang Clan Association, KDC Racing Club (2025 Borneo Drift Series Round 1 & 2), Miri Islamic Secondary School PTA (2025 Hari Raya Aidilfitri Opening Ceremony and Knowledge Tour 7.0), Miri Yan Zi Performing Arts Society (Cheongsam Night and Classic 1950s Shanghai Songs), Miri-Limbang Chinese Primary School Boards of Management Association (Chin Kim Leong’s Talk on Chinese Education), SK & SMK St. Columba PTA, Baithani Senior Care Centre, Miri Manjusri Buddhist Centre (Blood Donation Campaign), Miri Shi Ba Luo Han Temple, Miri Youth Business Centre, Sarawak Bisaya Association (2025 Babulang Festival & Buffalo Race), Highlanders Sports Club (25th Highlanders Sports Carnival), Miri Urban Poor Association, and Sarawak Dayak Youth Association (GADS) (2025 Dayak Carnival Bazaar Launch).
