Mooncake Distribution Brings Mid-Autumn Warmth to Community

Despite a light drizzle in the morning, MBKS Councillor Eric Tay together with community leaders went ahead with a mobile service session while distributing mooncakes to residents and traders at Padungan and Tower Market. The festive activity continued in the evening at the Open-Air Market and Tower Market, where the Mid-Autumn spirit was once again shared with the community.

“What we share today is a gesture of care, a blessing, and a reminder of the bonds that tie us together as a community,” said Tay. “The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important celebrations in Chinese culture, symbolizing reunion, harmony, and togetherness. No matter where we are, the bright full moon connects families across distances, reminding us of the love and warmth of home.”

He also extended his gratitude to the Padungan Merchant Association for their support, saying their involvement helps strengthen unity and community spirit.

“May every resident, under the full moon tonight, enjoy precious moments of joy with their loved ones and feel the warmth of family. My greatest wish is for our society to continue growing in love, harmony, and solidarity,” he said.

Tay ended by wishing everyone well: “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and may your homes be filled with happiness, your families with love, and your lives with peace and prosperity.”
