Giving to the Less fortunate
In the spirit of community solidarity, Sentosa State Assemblyman Wilfred Yap, together with Penghulu Jakup Buan, TR Christopher Chaong, and TR Michael Mada, recently visited underprivileged families to distribute Gawai food baskets in preparation for the upcoming Gawai celebrations.
The initiative, he said aimed to ease the financial burden of needy households. Each carefully prepared food basket contains essential festive food items, ensuring that the recipients can participate in the festive Gawai celebrations with joy.
During the visit, Yap took time to personally interact with the families, listen to their concerns and offer words of encouragement. His direct approach and genuine concern for the people underscored his dedication to serving the community beyond mere representation.
As the Gawai celebrations draw near, YB Wilfred Yap remains steadfast in his mission to foster inclusivity, compassion and unity values that lie at the heart of Sarawak’s diverse society.
