MBKS Service Counter Receives Good Response
The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) held a special service counter at the MBKS Lobby today from 8:30am to 12:00pm to assist the public with various government-related applications.
Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the initiative is part of MBKS’ continuous efforts to improve access to essential services, especially for vulnerable groups such as senior citizens and students. “We want to ensure that no one is left behind. This is about bringing services closer to the people, especially those who may face difficulties navigating the system on their own,” he said.
Officers at the counter will help with applications for the Kenyalang Gold Card and Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB) programme, Special Financial Assistance under Yayasan Sarawak for eligible students, and the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) under NADI for qualifying individuals in the B40 and M40 income groups.
MBKS also provide e-Billing registration and advisory services for assessment rates and host an Affin Bank counter to facilitate applications for the Kenyalang Debit Card.
Wee stated that this effort underscores MBKS’ commitment to inclusive and people-focused governance, urging all eligible residents to make use of the opportunity to receive guidance and submit their applications correctly and smoothly.
