Do wear your masks out, says Dr Sim
Sarawak Local government and Housing Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian warned that even after 2 doses of vaccination, it does not necessarily mean that the individual has immunity.
Vaccines passport, he said, does not mean we have antibodies to protect us. “We still need to wear masks, keep physical distance until 70-80% of the population is vaccinated.Vaccination will decrease our chances of being infected, and less severe if we are unfortunately infected,” he explained. He added that there are people who received both doses and were again infected.
Dr. Sim said Sarawak has finally ranked first in 1st dose and second in 2nd dose in Malaysia. He said this is happening as Sarawak dares to think big and start small but keep the momentum up fast.
Although, he added, Sarawak did not have as many doctors and nurses as compared to the rest of Malaysia, Sarawak is more passionately enthusiastic to jab as many as possible to create a herd immunity. He hoped that could be achieved soon.
