Sarawak United Peoples’ Party President, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said the Opposition representative in Parliament failed to speak out as only Sarawak BN will have the power to change things while the Opposition just wait and see. He said some also kept quiet as they are worried of their opposition Chairman post in Sarawak being replaced.

Speaking at the launching of EDGE, a new SUPP Youth logo at the party headquarters, Dr Sim said West Malaysians are good in Gaduh (quarrels) and as long as Sarawak is protective of our own rights and respecting each other religion, culture and races, we are safe which is unlike the Opposition who has West Malaysian parties. If not for Adenan satem, Dr. Sim said West Malaysia will continue to rob Sarawak.

Calling the SUPP a post-Adenan and Baju Kuning era now, Dr. Sim said it was in this very building when SUPP was born in 1959. He said he did not know what was MA 63 until the late Chief Minister, Pehin Sri Adenan Satem started fighting for the rights of Sarawak. He said Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari has continued the fights of Adenan and added some more policies which brings a lot of benefit to Sarawak.

Dr. Sim aid these included building up Sarawak  financially independent  with DBOS, getting back Bakun which is earning us money daily, LRT and Petros and building Sarawak to a new digital era. Now, the state government is giving aid to churches and chinese schools.

Calling all to throw the support behind SUPP, Dr. Sim said it is for the benefit of Sarawakians themselves to have their own autonomy and rights.
