Special sale carnival to assist lower income group
Batu Kitang constituents are benefitting from a special sale carnival run by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, introduced to assist the lower income group.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian launched the programme at Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang service centre yesterday, where a considerable number of people turned up as early as 7 am to get food items priced lower than the market price.
A total of 30 items were displayed and according to PJSR, it is an initiative by the ministry to help those with the rising cost of living and inflation. Miri, Lawas and Kanowit also have such sales going on.
