Dr Sim: Barisan not against Islam but against Hudud as they believe in moderation
Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Local Government Minister and SUPP President said he need to get clarification from the Barisan secretary-general (Tengku Adnan) as to what exactly have been discussed or agreed on Hudud issues.
He said during the recent BN Supreme council meeting of which he was attending,
Dr. Sim said it was a consensus decision made, that they are not against Islam but against Hudud in the constitution as they believe in moderation and not extremism.
Dr. Sim pointed out that during the formation of Malaysia, it was agreed that all should uphold the spirit of pluralism, moderation and multi-religious and not otherwise.
Earlier on at the party Headquarters, there was a councillor meeting, followed by the Central Working committee meeting.
