俞小珊：美里市政局积极应对狂犬病课题
美里市长俞小珊指出，美里市政局目前捕捉921只野狗，以避免狂犬病扩散。 他指出，美里有两个地区被发现有动物感染狂犬病，分别是卑尔骚再也及罗东。目前，美里市政局积极采取必要措施遏制狂犬病疫情蔓延，如捕捉野狗。 他强调，应对狂犬病课题需要美里市民共同配合，关于狂犬病的讯息已经在社交媒体及报章上发布，希望民众可以掌握。 在狗执照方面，俞小珊指出，截至今年8月，美里市政局共发出2369张狗执照。狗主人有责任确保宠物接受狂犬病疫苗注射，以及避免它们走出户外。 他也提醒说，任何被狗咬伤者，必须马上求医。
谢家洪呼吁民众共同对抗狂犬病
人联党卑尔骚州议员拿督陈超耀律师助理谢家洪呼吁民众注意家中宠物情况，不要让狗或猫走出户外。 他强调，在美里鉴定为狂犬病疫区后，市民应该更加谨慎，避免家里宠物感染狂犬病。他说，美里市民可扮演本身角色应对狂犬病，若发现野狗出现异样，特别是狂犬病症状，必须马上拨打热线085-411866投报。 他感谢砂灾难处理及拯救委员会即时发布狂犬病讯息，任何遭狗咬伤的民众，必须使用清水清理伤口至少15分钟，并前往临近医院或诊所求医。 他也希望美里市民勿轻信谣言，共同对抗狂犬病。

卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀律师指出，目前美里并没有出现人类感染狂犬病案例。 他说，砂灾难处理及拯救委员会宣布美里成为狂犬病疫区，是因为出现动物感染狂犬病。他希望美里市民与地方议会合作，共同应对狂犬病课题。 在美里被鉴定为狂犬病疫区后，陈超耀马上前往美里卫生局会见官员，了解狂犬病课题。 他表示，各界应该携手应对狂犬病课题，尤其是养狗的民众应该让狗接受狂犬病疫苗注射。他希望政府兽医服务局的狂犬病疫苗注射是免费的。 陈超耀也与美里医院院长黄修儒会面，后者表示，若人们提高警惕，可避免狂犬病蔓延。任何人若被狗咬伤，应该马上前往医院求医。 陈超耀强调，美里医院及美里卫生局为狂犬病课题做好充分准备，民众除了在报章，也可从社交媒体了解更多关于狂犬病的讯息。任何有关美里地区狂犬病疫苗注射详情，可拨打085-411866。同时，若发现野狗，须尽快联络美里市政局085-424111或019-8960370。

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Piasau Youth Chief, Chia Kah Frung, advised pet owners to watch out for the behaviour of their pets and not to let them get out of their compounds as Miri has been confirmed infected by rabies. Preventing rabies from spreading
Miri Municipal council Mayor, Adam Yii disclosed that a total of 921 strays from various parts of Miri had been captured to curb the spread of rabies. Yii said two areas in Miri, Piasau Jaya and Lutong Shell, were confirmed to be infected by the rabies disease on Thursday.
