Breaking of fast in the community mosque
Local Minister and Housing, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian held his Annual breaking of fast (Berbuka Puasa) at Masjid Darul Ittihaad, Kenyalang Park – his local community mosque (near his residence). He added that it is a very unique mosque in Kuching as it is frequented by a lot of young international Muslim students from the nearby Swinburne University Sarawak Campus.
Grants for associations, organisations and NGOs
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, has called on associations and organisations to do their part and contribute to the people’s issues while issuing grant to 35 organisation yesterday morning at the SUPP headquarters. 程明智：砂希盟应成国油案答辩人
人联党青年团总团长程明智强调，在国油公司针对砂拉越政府向联邦法院提出法律诉讼的事件上，砂希望联盟理应申请成为答辩人，以介入有关的法律诉讼案。 他表示，砂希望联盟在当前申请介入国油公司的法律诉讼之做法，才是合宜的。如此砂希望联盟便可以阻止国油公司申请在砂拉越拥有石油上游工业活动的全权管制权，以及在砂拉越领土范围内的石油开采和勘探权。 他说，这么一来，还可以洗脱砂希望联盟在全国大选胜出后的违背竞选宣言之嫌。 此外，程明智指出，希望联盟的竞选宣言内容就包括向砂拉越人民承诺说，一旦执政，希望联盟政府就将在执政100天内成立一个内阁委员会，以负责检讨和监督1963年马来西亚立国契约的公平执行。 他认同联邦政府需要时间来成立相关委员会，但国油公司当前的做法却显得本末倒置。这是因为该公司竟然没有事先给予新任上司及同僚足够时间就国油公司是否侵犯砂拉越主权之事进行检讨﹐就先行针对砂拉越政府向联邦法院提出了诉讼。 他也置疑﹐张健仁为何要就我国首相敦马哈迪和砂首长拿督巴丁宜阿邦佐哈里的会面﹑以及国油公司后来对砂拉越提出诉讼等事件﹐硬在时间点上大作文章﹐并说成是故意巧合的安排。 “鉴于国油公司乃是一个直接由首相管辖的官联公司﹐那他何不质问首相为何会允许国油公司挑战砂拉越的石油权﹑挑战砂拉越在石油矿业法令下所具备的石油税收管制权﹖”
沈桂贤呼吁各界庆祝722
砂地方政府与房屋部长拿督沈桂贤呼吁各组织在来临的7月22日一同庆祝，唤醒大众关于砂拉越曾是一个邦国，应与联邦共享平等地位。 他日前在人联党总部分发拨款仪式上致词时表示，由于本身政务繁多，若人民仍面对任何有待解决的问题，要提醒或催促他本身或秘书，确保相关问题可以获得解决。 他说，每一个人都有自己贡献方式，要以正面想法与方法对待，这才会帮助更多的人，而非一直谩骂。他指出，砂拉越约有5000个公会组织，许多都非常活跃，政府拨款仅能尽一点绵力而已。 沈桂贤说，其今年已为961个本地组织团体争取到拨款，去年则派发拨款给予约3000个组织团体。 他希望受惠的组织团体，在获取拨款后可以发挥作用，继续为社会做出实际贡献，照顾人民福祉。他说，尽管少了来自联邦政府的拨款，砂政府仍会竭尽所能，积极协助各组织团体的发展。
沈桂贤与穆斯林同胞开斋
砂地方政府及房屋部部长拿督沈桂贤日前前往肯雅兰Darul Ittihaad清真寺，与当地穆斯林一起开斋。 他也在场移交捐赠品予清真寺管理层，提前祝贺开斋节。 他称，该清真寺非常独特，因为附近有斯威本科技大学，不少国外学生每天到那里祈祷。
